Basketball was created by a Christian man at the YMCA "to win men for the Master through the gym". His goal was to build character and physical health on the court that would then transfer over to spiritual health in life.
We are a country of physically weak men and spiritually weak men. The creator of basketball wanted us all to take Paul's advice and "not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord”.
