EWe’re back with season 2 of Podcasting is Praxis; it’ll be grittier, darker and probably all downhill from here - a perfect mirror for reality. David (@SanitaryNaptime), Rob (@CountRthe), Jamie (@Wizardcubes), and James (@BrovineOfBored) talk Iran, discuss the Labour leadership election, and Rob loses his mind at Polly Toynbee’s middlebrow garbage. Also, we start scoring Comment or Commentariat to find out whomst among us is the greatest connoisseur of trash takes! Ep 23Episode 22 - Vote.
EIt's almost time. It's almost HAPPENING. Elijah, James, Matt & Jamie take a look at some of the last things to come out of the winter election, and think back to some of the dumbest highlights of the whole long and painful time, and then the collective has a bit of a think about who, as individuals, we'll be voting for. More importantly, why. To intro the show, we have a musical treat supplied by Elijah, so do enjoy Toxic Ephex feat. Ep 21Episode 20 - Transforming Ignorance
EContent Warning: TERFs, Transphobia In this episode, Natalie, Matt and James run David through a few aspects of the challenges and barriers that society - and some of the worst in it - puts up for people who aren't cisgender. They also explain the type of help that's actually available, and how it's woefully incapable of operating at anything close to the necessary capacity. One of the reasons we're keen to do these types of episodes - and there will be more down the line - is to confront our ignorance, listen to some people with a bit more knowledge, and engage with it. It's about trying to make ourselves more rounded people, and better allies to others. We hope that if you're in a similar position to David, you come out of this episode feeling more confident in your understanding of a subject you may know very little about: the struggles that trans people go through. Also in a first for this podcast, we talk Scottish Pol- no wait, don't go! James gives us a good rundown of how they see transphobia taking hold within the Scottish political establishment across a multitude of parties, a topic they will expand upon in more detail on another episode... Ep 20Episode 19 - Jo Swinson's Gritty Reboot of the Tufty Club
EPolls! Polls? Polls. Rather than have a big obsessive panic about number go up, number go down, we take a look at what MRP actually means, and the reasons that polling is a bit pointless until the only poll that matters; the exit poll. Also, we take a brief look back over the Climate Change debate, a fun jaunt into the CUKTIG Manifesto Pamphlet and enjoy the fightback against media bias through twitter antics that have forced Jo Swinson to carefully avoid denying allegations that she's a squirrel murderer (again, we live for this) (also, RIP Richard Miller) Follow us at http://twitter.com/Praxiscast Cast: Rob - http://twitter.com/CountRThe Alasdair - http://twitter.com/SA_Ballistari James (Original flavour) - http://twitter.com/BrovineofBored Jamie - F Andrew

Ep 19Episode 18 (Part 2/2) - Mainly Manifesto Mutterings

Ep 18Episode 18 (Part 1/2) - I wanna be. the sensiblest, like no-one ever was...
EWe're on a roll! In part one of our first ever two part episode, we cast our minds back to when Johnson and Swinson lived out their personal nightmares on live TV.* We also chat voter registration and the baffling state of the BBC turning full propagandist, before pivoting hard left towards the Labour Manifesto. When we recorded this we originally intended to just run for the usual one episode length, but it turns out that when you give a load of socialists good policies to get out there, we don't shut up, so that's why you've got a two parter. Follow us at http://twitter.com/Praxiscast for further episode updates AND also information on our upcoming Election Night Livestream! Ep 17Episode 17 - Epseventeen Didn't Kill Himself
EEditing delays have been plaguing us, so apologies for the late release. Should be back to normal pretty soon! Join us for a look back at some of last week's highlights in election hell, including our takes on the first election debate, laughing at Jo Swinson trying to go full Welcome to City 17 as some sort of complaint, and a complete failure among us to grasp exactly how Lib Dem policy even exists. Also, as always, more Comment or Commentariat. Ep 16Episode 16 - Would EU like to know more?
ESlightly late release here, but we're taking a little break from the election to cover something that we're all sick to death of talking around - the EU. Rob leads the discussion with a primer on what the EU is, leading to some discussion on whether or not the EU could ever truly be something good, and we deep dive into the bendy banana bunker for some choice headlines in our guessing game, where the answer is always hellworld. Ep 15Episode 15 - The Clown Shoes of Respect
EWe've survived war christmas, and we didn't even have to travel back to 2016 to do it! Another week of news, another series of self-owns, including the Brexit Party collapsing in on itself, the Lib Dem's making sure they follow the lead of another protest vote party and doing the same, Johnson attempting to appear as if he didn't fall out of a spacecraft and Swinson fully embracing the death of humility. Also, David unleashes a special article to Alasdair's torment, and all it cost him was 5p on a plastic bag. Join us for our Election Livestream on the 12th of December! Ep 14Episode 14 - Campaigning and You
EIt's election season, and that means that loads of people are going from door to door to get their party's message out. In this episode, Michael, Seb, Chris and our guest Alicia talk about what's involved in campaigning, how to navigate the kinds of questions that come up on the doorstep, how to contribute if the doorstep isn't your thing, and just generally why it's a good thing to do! We also cover the concept of Purdah, with a handy briefing on what it encompasses and how you can spot potential breaches of such. Ep 12Episode 12 - Power-Ups in a Union
EVideo games are fun, but have you ever worked in the Video Game industry? Turns out, it can be a bit worse than you might expect. Join us to hear some of the awful things the industry has done, and some of the good news around changing practices as workers start to organise. Also, rather than Comment or Commentariat, we play "Guess the Scandal", which is sure to be fun for all the family. EIt's election time! Hosting the celebrations are Rob, Natalie, Alasdair, Jon and Xander. A little look on the news, including the people who are getting out of dodge before we see ++ HUMILIATION FOR THEM ++ in the papers, and a nice look at the Lib Dem strategy of just outright lying about how graphs and numbers work. Ep 10Episode 10 - Tangible Schadenfreude
EIt's news again this week, wherein we do our best to explain how the hell an election actually works because of the Fixed Term Parliament Act and how it gives so much scope for the tories to do as they please around it. Also, another terrible article about the Home Secretary Priti Patel, and a game of Comment or Commentariat to establish whomst is the better of the James'. Ep 9Episode 9 - A Smooth Brain Bouncing Around a Frictionless Skull
EWe're back! Sorry for the late release, but we're back with an almost full episode. We recorded this before Parliament's Super Saturday, so we've just chopped out the Brexit update, so instead, we've got some of the lesser reported parts of last week's news, as well as an article in which Toby Young starts with a fair point and ends with brain spiders, Comment or Commentariat, and a bunch of promises on our part that we really hope aren't hollow! Ep 8Episode 8 - What if the planet, but on fire?
EWe did it, we finally got some time and a break in the news to do a climate change episode! Hooray! Come join Natalie, Rob, Matty, James, and Dan for a wonderful adventure into the burning hellworld that is our planet. As well as a look at how capitalism ruins everything it touches, there's a dip into climate activism - from the mass engagement of Gen Z with FridaysforFuture, to the mass engagement of Extinction Rebellion activists with the police - a raft of potential solutions to climate change including the idea of the Green New Deal, and in place of Comment or Commentariat, a game of Capitalist or Supervillian (but I repeat myself) Links: Naomi Klein: 'Let Them Drown: the violence of othering in a warming world' Earth Strike

Ep 7Episode 7 - Atomic Kitten Malthusian
ETo cap off Conference Season, it's unfortunately time to cover the Tories. Join us for a look at the absolutely baffling lack of new ideas, and the horrifying doubling down on some of the older stuff. On this week's episode, Jon makes his first appearance alongside Alasdair, Jamie, Rob & David, not just for the conference, but for some coverage of the news (there's good stuff this week!), an article that combines bootlicking with being horny on main, and Comment or Commentariat. Ep 6Episode 6 - A Spectre is Haunting Progress
EIn this week's episode, Alasdair (@SA_Ballistari), David (@SanitaryNaptime), Ben (smart man who doesn't use twitter), Seb (@PCSocialism) and Xander (@xjmaw) tackle Tom Watson's narrowly avoiding being dissolved in acid, the aftermath of the Supreme Court ruling on the prorogation of parliament, the collapse of Thomas Cook a la every other mega conglomerated business like Carillion, Joris Bohnson's relationship with an American business woman that is bad, but not for the reason everyone is saying it is; and the big topic this week, Labour conference, with all the extremely good stuff that's been coming from The World Transformed fringe manifesto and the actual conference itself. Main highlights there are the Green New Deal (https://www.labourgnd.uk/) and all the actual policies that were announced by all our favourites from the Labour Party. We also follow up with another article that further sends Alasdair into the realm of the mad god, and another round of Comment or Commentariat, with some of our favourite friends of the show.

Ep 5Episode 5 - The Swinter of Our Discontent
ERob and Elijah join a further expanded cast with Seb and Kirby on an unfortunate expedition into just what Lib Dem policy actually is, have a meltdown over a terrible article, and play another game of Comment or Commentariat.

Ep 4Episode 4 - A Parcel of Prorogues
EBONUS EP! We delve into the proroguing of parliament, ponder an extremely brainspider infested article about the supremacy of Jo Swinson's Lib Dems and do some Comment or Commentariat.

Ep 3Episode 3 - Judged On Your Record
EContent Warning: DWP & Poverty experience The group talk about the experiences of one of our own surviving a changing welfare system in the UK under the yoke of austerity and Tory rule. Not going to lie to you, this one does get a bit heavy at points. We cover a long decline in standards of welfare, with a lot of first hand accounts from Fargle in his debut on the podcast. The ministers responsible, the aims of the system and the struggles present in it. It wouldn't be a socialist podcast if we didn't put some sort of hopeful slant on it though, and we touch on a potential solution in the long term, and cover some individual coping techniques and support services available to anyone in need, including an aid document by the Something Awful UK Megathread's incredibly cool and good Ferrosol. Also making their debut on the podcast is Natalie (we finally got a woman on, patriarchy rest in piss), and Rob, our very own unelected Brussels Bureaucrat! Ep 2Episode 2 - Mr BoJo's Wild Ride
EAfter an eventful week in parliament, and the probable imminent death of the tories, we're back to bring you a round-up of the comedy of errors. Parliamentary procedure, terrible speeches, and unity in opposition all get a look-in, followed by an awful article written by our favourite jauntily-angled former tory, Rory Stewart - and of course, a trip to the hot take mines for another game of Comment or Commentariat. Ep 1Episode 1 - Eternal Brexit of the Smoothest Mind
EIn our opening episode, the content we want to do is held hostage by the news and we’re left with no choice but to talk about Brexit, a little of the fun that it’ll bring for us all, and the hyperthunk brains that have brought it to us. This weeks cast: David - http://twitter.com/SanitaryNaptime Elijah - http://twitter.com/KlezmerRouge Alasdair - http://twitter.com/SA_Ballistari Xander - http://twitter.com/xjmaw
