जयः अमलवर्मणः......

शान्तिपुरं नाम किञ्चन राज्यं शान्तिप्रियः अमलवर्मा परिपालयति स्म । कदाचित् शान्तिपुरस्य प्रतिवेशिराज्यस्य परमक्रूरः लोभी च राजा क्रूरसिंहः पूर्वसूचनां विना युद्धघोषणं कृतवान् । कथञ्चिदपि युद्धं निवारयितुं अमलवर्मा मक्षिकाणां महाराजेन मक्षीशेन मिलित्वा साहाय्यं पृष्टवान् । युद्धतः प्रत्यागमनान्तरं राज्ये वासार्थम् अनुमतिः दातव्या इति मक्षीशः प्रार्थितवान् । मक्षिकाः उपायेन युद्धं जित्वा शान्तिपुरं यदा आगतवत्यः तदा शान्तिपुरे कुत्रापि अस्वच्छं स्थानम् अप्राप्य अन्यत्र गतावत्यः । एवं राजा अमलवर्मा स्वस्य विवेकायुधेन महाराजं क्रूरसिंहं महाराजं मक्षीशं च पराजित्य शान्त्या शान्तिपुरं परिपालितवान् ।

There was a kingdom named Shantipur, ruled by the peace-loving king Amalavarma. Once, the neighboring kingdom’s cruel and greedy king, Krurasimha, declared war without any prior notice. To prevent the war, Amalavarma sought help from the king of flies, Makshisha. Makshisha agreed to assist on the condition that his flies would be allowed to reside in the kingdom after the battle. Using clever strategies, the flies helped win the war, and they came to Shantipur afterward. However, as the kingdom was impeccably clean, the flies found no unclean place to settle and went elsewhere. Thus, King Amalavarma, using his wisdom and cleanliness, overcame both Krurasimha and Makshisha, ensuring peace in Shantipur.
