काचन निर्धना माता पुत्रजननसमये धात्रै दत्तं वाक्यं पालयितुम्, पञ्चवर्षाणि पश्चात् सर्वमपि धनं यत् पुत्रेण प्राप्तं तत् सर्वं धात्रै अर्पयति। निर्धनमहिलायाः वचनपरिपालकतां निर्लोलुपतां च दृष्ट्वा सा धात्री तेन धनेन एकं कासारं निर्मितवती । अयं कासारः अद्यापि दरभङ्गानगरे 'धात्रीकासार' नाम्ना ख्यातः । सः बालकः भाविनि काले 'शङ्करमिश्र' नाम्ना ख्यातः, न्यायशास्त्रक्षेत्रे च महती ख्यातिः विद्यते ।

A poor mother made a promise to the midwife duirng childbirth. To keep up to the promise, five years later, when the child earned wealth, she gave it all to the midwife. Seeing the poor mother’s commitment to her word and her selflessness, the midwife used the money to build a pond. This pond, known as "Dhatrikasara," is still famous in Darbhanga today. The boy, in due course, became renowned as "Shankara Mishra" and gained great fame in the field of law.
