ईश्वरचन्द्रविद्यासागरः कस्याश्चित् निर्धनायाः विधवायाः कृते “भवत्याः पत्युः सकाशात् मया ऋणं स्वीकृतम्, तत् प्रत्यर्पयन् अस्मि” इति वदन् प्रतिमासं धनं यच्छति स्म । सा विधवा यदा सः ईश्वरचन्द्रविद्यासगरः, साहाय्यार्थमेव धनं प्रेषयति, इति ज्ञातवती तदा विस्मिता हर्षिता च अभवत् ।
Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar pretended to repay a loan to a widow, donating money monthly. When she discovered his kindness, she was overwhelmed with gratitude and amazement at his selfless deception.
