कश्चन तरुणः गुरोः सकाशात् धनुर्विद्याम् अधीत्य महत् कौशलं प्राप्तवान् । सः धनुर्विद्यायां गुरुमपि अतिशेते इत्यतः अहङ्कारयुक्तः अभवत् । गुरुः एतत् ज्ञात्वा न किमपि उक्तवान् । एकदा शिष्यः कठिनं सेतुम् अतिक्रान्तुं प्रयत्नरतः सन् कम्पितः, शाखायाम् अधःपतनभयेन आकुलः अभवत् । अन्ते सः अवगतवान् यत् अध्येतव्यं बहु अस्तीति ।

A young man learned a great skill in archery from a guru. He was also a master in archery and became arrogant because he was led to his growing pride. The teacher, aware of this, remained silent. One day the disciple was trying to cross a difficult bridge, and he trembled, and the two branches trembled for fear of falling. Finally, he realized that there was much to learn.
