「保險」的雛形可以追溯到公元前 2500 年到 4500 年的古巴比倫與埃及，
埃及商人在出發橫越沙漠之前約定，如果運輸途中駱駝及貨物損失，共同承擔風險。
保險也慢慢地在15世紀以後，隨著國際貿易發展，由義大利經西班牙逐漸傳入荷蘭、英國、德國，並擴展到全世界，
17世紀後，結合科學計算，慢慢加上相關的規範，成為現今大家所知道的「保險」。
