Show Notes

It's been a common theme in recent decades for some evangelical leaders in the UK and the US to make a doctrinal "progressive slide". Often this involves the embrace of a more culture-friendly or seeker-sensitive message, or the gravitation to social issues over and above the Gospel or the authority of Scripture. Sometimes these shifts happen subtly, almost without the person or their followers realising before it's too late. The effects can be deadening to the faithfulness and missional potency of the Church, as the leader becomes virtually indistinguishable from the world around them. What are the telltale signs of this problem, and how can we mitigate against it? What's at stake when leaders choose social affirmation over and above the God they claim to serve and glorify? Join Aaron, Andy, and Michael as they dive into this crucial topic with their usual mix of wit, wisdom, and insight.
