- if we are nothing but matter in motion, then we have no basis for saying anything is true or not
- everyone even materialists can’t believe their thoughts
- this whole book is the work of a Christian philosopher, who is very careful and diligent

- means boaster
- listed in Romans 1:30 and 2 Tim. 3:2
- vainglory always seeks to puff itself up
- let him who wants to boast, boast in the Lord
- boasting of some sort is inescapable
- giving glory to God is the heart of every sane response
