Sawyer's anti-nudism crusade, which began in the 1950s, led to confrontations with nudist organizations and even prompted the only anti-nudism law in the U.S., still on Arkansas' books. Despite failing to gain traction in the broader religious community and lacking empirical evidence to support his claims, Sawyer's controversial legacy continues to hover like a cloud over the nudist community and American civil liberties. 🪐
