For this episode of Planet MicroCap Podcast, I spoke with Mark Tobin. He is a Senior Analyst at Independence Investment Research based in South Africa. My experience with Australian MicroCaps has been largely meeting and interviewing Australian resource companies. When Mark approached me about doing an episode discussing the landscape for MicroCaps in Australia, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. Even though he is based in South Africa, he worked as an Equity Analyst under Geoff Wilson at Wilson Asset Management in Sydney, Australia. Since he left, he’s been blogging for an investment news platform in Australia called, Livewire Markets, where he’s contributed many articles discussing the topic you will hear about today: Australia and MicroCaps. The goal for this episode is to learn more about the landscape for MicroCap stocks in Australia and Mark’s strategy when assessing an Australian MicroCap Stock.
