Southampton v Ipswich | CotC with Matt Samuel & Paul Gaught-Allen | Planet FPL 2024/25

James is joined by Souuthampton fan Matt Samuel and Ipswich Town fan Paul Gaught-Allen ahead of the meeting between the two promoted clubs at St Mary's on Saturday. Both clubs remain winless, but the situation feels more troublesome at Southampton following their defeat at Manchester United and despite averaging a whopping 62% possession so far, they have only scored once. Ipswich have two points more following draws with Fulham and Brighton and now have an outstanding long-term fixture run on the horizon where they will hope to rise up the table. There's discussion on the 4.0 defensive assets including Taylor Harwoord-Bellis and Jacob Greaves, Ipswich's attacking talents for Fantasy and why despite their scoring assets James has two Southampton players high on his watchlist. What Is An Expert? | The People's Poll ep. 148 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Clayton and James have an open discussion about the word expert, its factual definition and its use within the FPL community. Because it's a word James really dislikes. But why does he dislike it? Or is it that he doesn't dislike it at all, and only dislikes how it is used? And there's brief coverage to kick off on the words that lost out in the poll, 'nailed' and 'essential'. S8 Ep 12Four Letter Words | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 12 | GW4 Review | Fantasy Premier League

On the Gameweek 5 Review Suj and James discuss all the games from the weekend and it was a particularly painful one for James following defeat in the North London Derby. Discussion on Arsenal's victory and how they overcame the absence of Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard. But it wasn't all bad news for James in FPL as Ollie Watkins matched another Erling Haaland haul and it was another successful weekend for Suj who included Gabriel in his starting eleven. Plus, for many Wildcarders there may be regret as Liverpool assets flopped in a surprise defeat to Nottingham Forest and a theme of this week's review is a hunt for decent forward options. James welcomes Fulham fan Lewis James (for his CotC debut) and West Ham fan Chrsi Stone to discuss the latest at their clubs and their FPL assets ahead of Saturday's London Derby at Craven Cottage. There's discussion on each club's start to the season and the integration of some of the new signings towards the end of the transfer window and how they may be integrated into the team, particularly at Fulham with Joachim Andersen, Sander Berge and Reiss Nelson all pushing for inclusion. On James' live stream this afternoon questions answered from the FPL community and it seems Brighton and Liverpool assets are going to be popular and with consecutive home games on the horizon it makes complete sense for those Wildcarding ahead of Gameweek 6; but is it worth it buying to sell in two weeks...? Aston Villa v Everton | CotC with Lee Jackson & Sean Norton | Planet FPL 2024/25

James is joined by Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson and Everton fan Sean Norton to discuss their clubs and FPL assets of interest ahead of the Gameweek 4 meeting between the two clubs at Villa Park. Ollie Watkins has underwhelmed so far this season, now yellow flagged and key provider Leon Bailey is injured... so why is James considering captaining the Villa talisman in Gameweek 4? Facing a pointless Everton who are struggling without defensive lynchpin Jarrad Branthwaite is a good place to start; but is it really all that bad for The Toffees, who cone into a brilliant fixture run after the trip to Villa, and there is one Evertonian Sean intends to go for on Wildcard! And Villa's good run of fixtures has already begun, with Morgan Rogers proving popular despite zero returns so far and there will be interest in their defensive assets too, but there's a warning to avoid. Man City v Brentford | CotC with Jonny Pringle & Tom Medd | Planet FPL 2024/25

James is joined by Manchester City fan Jonny Pringle and Brentford fan Tom Medd to discuss the latest at their clubs and some very important FPL assets ahead of the club's meeting at The Etihad in Gameweek 4. Erling Haaland looks back to his very best and off the back of two consecutive hat-tricks, there's reflection on if we carried problems through last season and whether he will be the FPL captaincy choice of preference over forthcoming weeks. Kevin De Bruyne is undertaking a new role and also looking back to his best, with Phil Foden absent recently there's focus on him and other Manchester City assets, including the mid price midfielders and the prospects of defensive assets Rico Lewis and Josko Gavrdiol for FPL managers. And Brentford assets should appeal too, they have an amazing fixture run after the trip to City and the likes of Mark Flekken, Sepp Van Den Berg, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa are all subject to scrutiny for FPL managers Tomorrow on Planet FPL: The Clayton & James Show ep.4 Today on Patreon: UCL Fantasy Fixture Analysis & Away Days For the full Planet FPL schedule this week, including our offering on Patreon view this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/schedule-2nd-6th-111255735 Want to become a member of our FPL community and support the Podcast? S8 Ep 10Tweak Of The Thumb | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 10 | GW3 Review | Fantasy Premier League

Suj and James discuss the fallout from all the Gameweek 3 games as Erling Haaland made it back-to-back hat-tricks for another seventeen points and Mo Salah match that total as Liverpool cruised to victory at Old Trafford. It mean owning both with the captaincy on either returned 51 points, and despite James' Wildcarding he's still sitting there with neither. So how bad did it turn out!? All the games and key talking points discussed with a heavy focus on the FPL assets on mind both for the shorter term and thinking further ahead; plus James is pleased despite Tottenham's defeat at Newcastle, and for Manchester United there's a feeling that things won't change until there is change. Man Utd v Liverpool | CotC with Gary Robinson & Dan Lord | Planet FPL 2024/25

On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Manchester United fan Gary Robinson and Liverpool fan Dan Lord to talk FPL assets and their clubs ahead of what many perceive as English's football biggest fixture. There's discussion on the two clubs start to the season, with concern for what the reaction may be at United if defeat at Brighton is followed by another loss and how much we can read from Liverpool's opening two wins. There's advice for those on Manchester United assets in FPL including whether Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho should cut their losses and the majority of Liverpool assets can be considered but there is agreement on two standouts, the danger of 'no' Salah and whether there would a preference for double Liverpool attack or defence. S8 Ep 9A Green Spot In The Desert | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 9 | GW2 Review | Fantasy Premier League

An Oasis of joy for Erling Haaland Captainers and Triple Captainers as the big man took home the match ball on Saturday and he wasn't the only hat-trick scorer this weekend as Noni Madueke also hit a treble - all assisted by cold Cole Palmer - as The Blues scored six at Wolves. Suj and James review all the weekend games from Gameweek 2 which saw a continuation of clean sheets which even remarkably featured Tottenham and West Ham keeping the door locked. But it was cleans for Arsenal and Liverpool that helped a Haaland-less James survive the week. There's insight into some of the weekend tactics including Tottenham's very offensive setup, Newcastle concern and why Kevin De Bruyne needs close monitoring. And now James in on Wildcard, with thoughts given on the players under consideration, while Suj has some issues to deal with, such as Christopher Nkunku and Lewis Hall, but he might not panic. Or he might. Some Might Say. Despite recouping close to £100m after the sales of Max Kilman and Pedro Neto (to Chelsea) the club reportedly only have £20m to invest; whilst at Chelsea the spending continues and more can be expected before the transfer window shuts, but the club is trying to sell several players with up to 15 reportedly told they don't have a future at the club and that includes Raheem Sterling. There's discussion on what Chelsea can expect from Neto and what may now be their strongest line-up and where Wolves may look to spend what is available to improve their current squad. Plus, FPL discussions feature a strong interest in Chelsea assets with a good fixture list on the horizon. The Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer debate is re-evaluated and if they can be trusted defensively to invest. But The Blues recent record at Wolves is not good, and might the best FPL investment defensively from the two clubs be in the home side? S8 Ep 8Morale Boost | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 8 | GW1 Review | Fantasy Premier League

The Planet FPL Gameweek Review returns as Suj and James discuss the nind games played so far in Gameweek 1 and it was a great weekend for many who attacked the opening weekend fixtures as several top players returned well and clean sheets were on the rise with Arsenal, Liverpool, the Manchester clubs and Newcastle all managing to keep out their opponents. There's tactical insight to the games and as usual a slant towards FPL thinking with much of the advice given that managers should hold their nerve on the majority of selections and that may even include one or two players who didn't start this weekend. And it was a big FPL week for James with four Tottenham in the team and a Bench Boost active. It went well, but is the good work about to be undone in Gameweek 2 with the proposed Wildcard now unlikely to be played? That would likely mean no Erling Haaland this weekend and possibly no Manchester City coverage at all! Tomorrow on Planet FPL: The People's Poll Podcast. S8 Ep 5Captaincy And Rotations | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 5 | Fantasy Premier League

Clayton and James take a deep dive into captaincy over the opening 10 Gameweeks of the season to determine the premium players wanted and needed for the opening weeks of the new season; before moving on in the latter part of the Podcast to a discussion on rotation options. The Haaland vs Salah debate continues, with the case made for both players, the difficulty in having both, the importance of the number 36, when it'll be time to hide behind the sofa and which of the players priced 8.5-10.5 stands up as being one that may well be wanted more often than FPL managers may expect for captaincy. There's also an overview of captaincy through the winter months and when during the season there really will be a time to take Haaland on with the captaincy - for those not brave enough to do it at the start! (Understandable!). Plus, a look at rotations, which even includes a 6.0 and 4,0 option together but focuses primarily on players and combinations priced in the 4.5 bracket and there may well be some options that haven't previously been considered. S8 Ep 4Chip Strategy | Planet FPL S. 8 Ep. 4 | Fantasy Premier League

James details to Suj and the audience what we can expect throughout the season with Blank and Double Gameweeks and it's going to make Chip Strategy very different in this season to what we have been use to in previous campaigns. So is it safe to use the Chips early in the season? Is James' intention to Bench Boost in Gameweek 1 a consequence of this? There's discussion on options for using the Chips both in the first and second half of the campaigns, why Manchester United and Tottenham could cause a particular headache to the schedule and why we shouldn't forget The Mystery Chip will also be available in the second half of the season. And there's further analysis of options for when to use the first Wildcard. Liverpool with Dan Lord | Correspondent Week ep.20 | Planet FPL 2024/25

On the 20th and final Podcast of Correspondent Week James is joined by Liverpool fan Dan Lord to discuss The Reds FPL assets and what we can expect tactically and stylistically from new manager Arne Slot. The club have been quiet in the transfer window so far. Could a reason behind this be that all of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil Van Dijk and Mo Salah are entering the final year of their contracts. Can the club afford to take a risk of losing these players for free next summer if agreements on new deals aren't reached soon? Salah v Haaland is discussed in detail, there's discussion on the likely positioning of FPL's GOAT and also incomparision to other Liverpool attackers. Is Diogo Jota, for example, worth a 5.0 saving against Salah? Trent's now down to 7.0. He too is compared to Jota, but is he certain to start in GW1, and might the likes of Jarrel Quansah, Coonor Bradley or Kostantis Tsimikas offer a cheaper route into Liverpool's defence at the start of the season? And interest in Reds assets will be high with a great fixture listv to behin with, but in the longer-term can they challenge Arsenal and Manchester City for the title again? Leicester with Aaron Lagor | Correspondent Week ep.19 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Aaron Lagor joins James to discuss all things Leicester City and their FPL assets ahead of their Monday night Gameweek opener against James' Tottenham. But despite being the Championship Champions they currently don't feel as strong as they did when achieving promotion. Why? Manager Enzo Maresca and key player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have departed for Chelsea. Former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is Maresca's replacement and there's a detailed debate on what may be different under the new manager. For FPL club legend Jamie Vardy may still lead the line, while wide men Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi are also 5.5. Should any of the trio appeal for investment? And there are enablers to consider with Wout Faes (4.0) and Harry Winks (4.5) both well owned. Bournemouth with Neil Grover | Correspondent Week ep.18 | Planet FPL 2024/25

*Recorded last night prior to this morning's reported news that it now looks likely Dominic Solanke will be on his way to Tottenham... ...James is joined by Bournemouth fan Neil Grover and conversation immediately gets into the big transfer story featuring The Cherries, with talisman Dominic Solanke heavily linked with a move to Tottenham. Will he or won't he? And in which circumstances should FPL managers be investing in the forward? There's discussion on which Cherries attacking assets may step up in the scenario of their star forward leaving, one solution may be that a player listed as a midfielder could end up out of position. Chelsea with Gary Mantle | Correspondent Week ep.17 | Planet FPL 2024/25

The Final Day of Correspondent Week kicks off with Gary Mantle joining James to discuss FPL assets and expectations for Chelsea under new manager Enzo Maresca and a period that should be full of enthusiasm has quickly evaporated due to some chaotic performances in pre-season and further strange transfer dealings. There's conversation on Maresca's intended tactics, what's been going wrong and there's an analysis of the transfer business which continues to leave many Chelsea fans concerned. Plus, Cole Palmer has received the highest ever price rise in FPL after finishing last season as the top points scorer. but currently there are many questions mark as to where exactly he will play in the new system. Therefore should a 4.0 saving be made by investing in Christopher Nkunku? And there's a run through of the squad to see if there are any more FPL assets to consider such as one of the 4.5 defenders, Noni Madueke, or a refreshed Raheem Sterling. Aston Villa with Lee Jackson | Correspondent Week ep.16 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Day 4 of Correspondent Week concludes with the team that finished in the Top 4 to secure Champions League football as James is joined by Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson to discuss The Villains fantastic achievement and their FPL assets before the big kick off. Ollie Watkins was phenomenal last season and a Euro Semi Final hero for England. Currently owned by roughly half of FPL managers he's the club's clear talisman. Villa have a challenging opening two so those without may want to add the forward in GW3, but it might not be easy for those who go without it might not be so easy to bring him in without a Wildcard. Leon Bailey also had a great season and at 6.5 will appeal, particularly for those without Watkins, but with UCL football to look forward to how reliable will his minutes be? And might Morgan Rogers, currently the only 5.0 midfielder owned by over 3% of managers be the better way to cover some of the Villa attack? There's also assessment of Villa's defensive assets including Ezri Konsa and Ian Maatsen and an assessment of the club's summer transfer business. Which as been, interesting. Southampton with Matt Samuel | Correspondent Week ep.15 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Southampton fan Matt Samuel joins James to discuss The Saints FPL assets and their chances of beating the drop under Russell Martin who will want to play an attractive style but is the team equipped enough to play the way he wants to? The squad will need strengthening, but within a budget, and a priority would be to get in a new goalkeeper and depth is required in the forward areas but the addition of Ben Brereton Diaz - who has been classified as a midfielder - offers genuine competition to Adam Armstrong for those seeking a Saints attacker. And FPL managers may want to invest in one, because despite the opening weekend's daunting trip to Newcastle an outstanding run of fixtures follows. Plus, there's a detailed debate about the relegation fight and 4.0 defenders, which includes the current highest owned, Southampton's Taylor Harwwod-Bellis. And the Saints may have the best 4.5 forward in the game too. Brighton with Sam Murray | Correspondent Week ep.14 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Sam Murray joins James to discuss the summer changes at Brighton with Roberto De Zerbi replaced by Fabian Hürzeler, who at 31 becomes the Premier League's youngest ever permanent manager. The Podcast includes discussion on what we can expect tactically from the new man in charge. And there's plenty of FPL discussion which includes interest in new attacker Yankubah Minteh who may thrill from the right and is attainable at 5.5, the same price as the popular Joao Pedro, but will the forward prove his fitness ahead of Gameweek 1? And the brilliant Kaoru Mitoma (6.5) is back fit, but largely being ignored. Perhaps that's because of a difficult fixture schedule which sees The Seagulls play 7 of last season's top 8 in the opening 11 gameweeks, but week 4 & 5 are very attractive with home fixtures against Ipswich and Nottingham Forest, a period that looks perfect to field 4.0 defender Valentin Barco, who if he does well is likely to make interest in any of the rest of the defensive assets at 4.5 undesirable. But maybe only from the start. Fulham with Lewis James | Correspondent Week ep.13 | Planet FPL 2024/25

It's a Planet FPL debut for new Fulham Correspondent Lewis James on the opening Podcast of Day 4 on Correspondent Week and with a very attractive set of fixtures to begin with there's plenty of interest in their FPL assets. But how will they cope with the departure of the brilliant Joao Palhinha? There's detail on new additions including Emile Smith-Rowe and a returning Ryan Sessegnon, and more additions can be expected to a squad that is likely to be led up front by Rodrigo Muniz who will prove popular for those looking for a reliable cheaper forward. Bernd Leno has been a proven consistent goalkeeper in Fantasy, but he may be overlooked with Fulham's backline all priced at 4.5. There's a debate about the prospects for Timothy Castagne and Antonee Robinson. Plus, could Smith-Rowe's arrival mean a departure for Andreas Pereira, and if so, who would take over set-piece duties. The answer may surprise. And there's also detail of why we may see a back three from Fulham as the season progresses. Crystal Palace with Ruaidhri McLaughlin-Dowd | Correspondent Week ep.12 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Day 3 of Correspondent Week concludes with Crystal Palace fan Ruaidhri McLaughlin-Dowd joining James to discuss his club who had an outstanding end to last season under Oliver Glasner and have a number of very interesting FPL assets. The futures of Marc Guehi and Ebe Eze are discussed and it's not implausible that both could follow Michael Olise through the exit door, and Ruaidhri has a warning for Fantasy owners of Eze even if it's confirmed he will stay. Jean-Phillipe Mateta couldn't stop scoring during the run-in but with him away at France and the Olympic final on Friday is he a likely absentee for the opener at Brentford? Plus, the new signings assessed (of which Ruaidhri currently has one for FPL), Joachim Andersen's high ownership, Daniel Munoz potential and the problem to picking the right 4.5 goalkeeper might have an answer. Manchester City with Jonny Pringle | Correspondent Week ep.11 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Jonny Pringle joins James to discuss all things Manchester City and their FPL assets as they bid for a fifth successive Premier League title. But there's a growing number of neutrals who think this might not be their season. Obviously Erling Haaland is covered, Jonny's initial reaction to the 15.0 price was to consider going without, but following the weekend pre-season hat-trick against GW1 opponents Chelsea how does he feel now? There's debate on Kevin De Bruyne versus Phil Foden at 9.5, the exciting emergence of 5.0 Oscar Bobb and his likely minutes, whether Josko Gvardiol is an auto pick at 6.0 and if there are preferences or desires across the players priced at 5.5 in defence and 6.5 midfield. Plus, will the departing Julian Alvarez be replaced, if Ederson is expected to stay and if City may remain surprisingly quiet during this transfer window despite some feeling a refresh is required. Newcastle with Simon Bibby | Correspondent Week ep.10 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Simon Bibby joins James to discuss Newcastle's FPL assets with interest very high and the perfect combination of attractive fixtures and some players very nicely priced. Alexander Isak is a shoo-in, isn't he? There's discussion on the Swedish forward, while fellow attacker Anthony Gordon is also going to be a popular pick, as long as he starts against Southampton in Gameweek 1. He will start; won't he? There's going to be interest in the 4.5 defenders with Dan Burn, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento all under scruting but the answer of which one to go for may be impacted by the future of Kieran Trippier. Si reveals his preference from the three and if extra should be paid for Nick Pope if wanting defensive coverage. Plus, there's another attacker that has Si's interest and the Podcast begins with chat on Eddie Howe's future with the England job available, why he's got to get the club back in the Champions League this season and there's coverage of the changes made an ownership level. Wolves with Bradley Parker | Correspondent Week ep.9 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Day 3 of Correspondent Week kicks off with Wolves fan Bradley Parker joining James to discuss everything at Molineux and despite a very tough opening set of fixtures there's positivity around Gary O'Neil's team and they may be about to move to a back four with more frequency following the sale of Max Kilman to West Ham. There's discussion on the three attacking 6.5 players who may appeal when the fixtures turn, Hwang Hee Chan, Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto and there's an intro to three new exciting signings in Pedro Lima, Rodrigo Gomes and Jorgen Strand Larsen, Rayan Ait-Nouri at Jose Sa are nicely priced at 4.5 and need monitoring, whilst Bradley believes there may be a permanent 4.0 starter in the team. But with the fixtures looking challenging should they remain a watch and wait? Plus, ticket price increases have caused anger among the fanbase and Bradley gives his opinion on Kilman and former manager Julen Lopetegui at West Ham Follow Bradley on Twitter/x: https://twitter.com/parker_bradley Next on Correspondent Week: ep.10 Newcastle United with Simon Bibby For the full Planet FPL schedule this week, including our offering on Patreon view this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/109354364 Want to become a member of our FPL community and support the Podcast? Nottingham Forest with Mark Sutherns | Correspondent Week ep.8 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Nottingham Forest fan and FPL Blackbox's Mark Sutherns joins James for the Day 2 conclusion of Correspondent Week to discuss all things Forest and their FPL assets, who are catching attention with a great opening set of fixtures. Morgan Gibbs-White is talisman, captain and set to stay. He's assessed versus the cheaper and explosive Callum Hudson-Odoi and also against the plethora of choice in the 6.6 midfield range. Whilst Chris Wood is also attracting attention as a forward who should return well at 6.0, but might there be an alternative at the same price at another club who is better choice with Taiwo Awoniyi also challenging for a place? Plus, all of the defensive assets have been priced at 4.5; Mark details who's best from the backline but there's interest in one more defender and another (yes, really) goalkeeper that means the player that might be of most interest may be yet to join the club. Plus, Nuno Espirito Santo remains despite speculation in the spring that he might not, but it may be another year of battling against relegation and there's also an update on the club's future at The City Ground. Tottenham with Ricky Saunders | Correspondent Week ep.7 | Planet FPL 2024/25

James is joined by fellow Tottenham fan Ricky Saunders to discuss all things Tottenham and begin by asking if the target for the season ahead must be qualification back into The Champions League. Rumours would suggest that the club may be about to make a push to sign Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke, would he be the right fit and how interested should FPL managers have in him if the move happens? And what would it mean for the future of Richarlison? There are three players in the midfield bracket at 6.5 and their prospects are assessed, James Maddison's form remains a concern, Heung-Min Son is a powerful differential who the majority are currently overlooking and Tottenham may have the most exciting 4.5 midfielder in Lucas Bergvall. Plus, there's coverage of the brilliant youngsters in the Tottenham squad who may break into the first team this season, the backline is likely to look familiar and both Ricky and James are in agreement on the one Tottenham player they have to have in FPL. Manchester United with Gary Robinson | Correspondent Week ep.6 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Manchester United fan Gary Robinson joins James to discuss United's #FPL assets and begin with reflection on the FA Cup Final victory over rivals City and club's decision to stick with Erik Ten Haag, though some backroom appointments, including legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy have led to to James remaining cautious on the current manager's future. Bruno Fernandes will appeal to many FPL managers at 8.5, but with Marcus Rashford back down to 7.0 and Alejandro Garnacho seemingly established and now 6.5 which, if any, of the trio is worth investing in? Pre-season has continued with last season's theme on injuries but key centre-back Lisandro Martinez is fit again and at 4.5 offers a cheap route in to a backline, that did admittedly give up an alarming number of shots last season. Andre Onana, Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw, all 5.0 are covered but with no new holding midfielder signed (yet) should they be swerved? Plus, Jadon Sancho is back, Mason Mount is playing, Amad Diallo is impressing and why Scott McTominay should not be discounted as possible FPL asset to consider. Everton with Sean Norton | Correspondent Week ep.5 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Planet FPL Correspondent Mini-League Winner Sean Norton joins James to kick off Day 2 of Correspondent Week by discussing all things Everton including interest in their FPL assets, particularly the defensive one's. The Toffees go into this season having had two attempted club Takeovers collapse and it's to be their final campaign at Goodison Park. What would constitute making their final season at their current home a success? Does it need to be more than just survival? There will be interest in Everton defensive assets but Jordan Pickford, Jarrod Branthwaite and James Tarkowski are now 5.0. Should managers look at a 4.5 alternative for coverage? West Ham fan Chris Stone joins James to conclude Day 1 of Correspondent Week by discussing all things on The Hammers including their FPL assets. Will new manager Julen Lopetegui bring back a return to 'The West Ham Way' and push the club back towards challenging for European qualification? The club is making moves in the transfer market too, there's discussion on those already signed like Crysencio Summerville and those set to follow such as Niclas Füllkrug. Jarrod Bowen (7.5) and Mohammed Kudus (6.5) are assessed and compared, there's the latest on Lucas Paqueta's off field situation and why he may have a deeper role in the team this season. Brentford with Tom Medd | Correspondent Week ep.3 | Planet FPL 2024/25

Brentford fan Tom Medd joins James to discuss The Bees ahead of the new season including whether we should expect more from a club who suffered badly with injuries. But the injuries look like they may persist with new signing Igor Thiago out injured until the winter and with major problems persisting at full-back. Will Ivan Toney stay or go? That's the major headline into The Bees season but if he stays will he even start in Gameweek 1? Bryan Mbeumo is currently an attractive differential in FPL, but FPL managers may be put off by Brentford's three challenging away trips inside the first five gameweeks; and Tom wants to make the case for a different attacker from the club. And Mark Flekken is currently the most owned 4.5 keeper but could his position in the team be under threat and do any of the 4.5 defenders at the club offer a better or safer alternative? Ipswich Town with Paul Gaught-Allen | Correspondent Week ep.2 | Planet FPL 2024/25

It's a Correspondent Week debut for Ipswich Town and Paul Gaught-Allen, who joins James to discuss everything about last season's Championship runners-up, including Kieran McKenna's crucial decision to stay as manager and whether surviving this season is a realistic aim following back to back promotions. Paul details what we can expect from McKenna tactically and that includes an advanced role for 4.5 left-back Leif Davis who notched a record number of Championship assists for a defender last season. But with every other Town defender priced at 4.0 is Davis worth the extra? And who's best from those 4.0s? Omari Hutchinson has signed on a permanent deal from Chelsea and has interest at 5.5, but there may be other attacking talents that appeal more from within the club. There's an outline of the current anticipated starting eleven and where the club is likely to invest further in the team and squad plus there's discussion on FPL's two most expensive players, Mo Salah and Erling Haaland, who are set to play The Tractor Boys in the first two Gameweeks. Arsenal with Adam Pritchard | Correspondent Week ep.1 | Planet FPL 2024/25

On the opener of Planet FPL Correspondent Week James is joined by Arsenal fan Adam Pritchard to discuss all things on The Gunners and their FPL assets ahead of a season where there is now more than just hope of them finishing above Manchester City and winning the title and it's not just Arsenal fans who think they can do it. But the start is tough, with trips to Villa, rivals Tottenham and Champions City all inside the first 5 so how much investment should FPL managers put into them? There's discussion on a preference between Gabriel and William Saliba, if Ben White is worth the extra, how Riccardo Calafiori and a returning Jurrien Timber may fit in and if David Raya actually offers a cheaper route into covering their defence that should be considered. Conversation on the attackers includes if Bukayo Saka is expected to start in GW1, if Martin Odegaard is worth the 1.5 saving, Kai Havertz's appeal and threats to his place as the central forward, Gabriel Martinelli's underwhelming 2023/24 and potential new incomings.
