MacGyver Location Travelogue – Vol. 1

ORIGINAL AIRDATE: April 30th, 2017 — A team of Phoenix agents explore MacGyver shooting locations of the greater LA area MISSION: Nicholas Sweedo of the MacGyver Project blog joins us on a tour of publicly-accessible locations from seasons 1,2, and 7. This week’s highlights include: Greystone mansion (Location) Greystone Mansion, also known as the Doheny Mansion, is a Tudor Revival mansion on a landscaped estate with distinctive formal English gardens, located in Beverly Hills, California, United States. Architect Gordon Kaufmann designed the residence and ancillary structures, and construction was completed in 1928. The estate was a gift from oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny to his son, Edward “Ned” Doheny, Jr., and his family. Following the purchase of the estate by the city of Beverly Hills in 1965, the property became a city park in 1971 and was subsequently added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 as Doheny Estate/Greystone. The house and grounds are often used in filmmaking and television production. The house’s descending staircase is one of the most famous sets in Hollywood. RS1:E21 – “Cigar Cutter”

ORIGINAL AIRDATE: April 14th, 2017 — An assassin, hired by Murdoc from behind bars, infiltrates the supposedly hidden Phoenix Foundation building MISSION: Murdoc brainwashes a fellow prisoner into posing as Dr. Zito, a Phoenix operative, and infiltrating the Phoenix Foundation to assassinate MacGyver and his team. This week’s highlights include: Fire alarm system (Safety) A fire alarm system has a number of devices working together to detect and warn people through visual and audio appliances when smoke, fire, carbon monoxide or other emergencies are present. These alarms may be activated automatically from smoke detectors, and heat detectors or may also be activated via manual fire alarm activation devices such as manual call points or pull stations. Alarms can be either motorized bells or wall mountable sounders or horns. They can also be speaker strobes which sound an alarm, followed by a voice evacuation message which warns people inside the building not to use the elevators. Fire alarm sounders can be set to certain frequencies and different tones including low, medium and high, depending on the country and manufacturer of the device. Most fire alarm systems in Europe sound like a siren with alternating frequencies. Fire alarm sounders in the United States and Canada can be either continuous or set to different codes such as Code 3. Fire alarm warning devices can also be set to different volume levels. Smaller buildings may have the alarm set to a lower volume and larger buildings may have alarms set to a higher level.
