On August 22nd, 1678 in Hartfordshire, a piece would be published in a local newspaper titled “The Mowing Devil.” The drawing consisted of a series of concentric rings of crops. In the middle stood a devil wielding a scythe. The pamphlet then told a strange tale. A farmer refused to pay a worker to mow his oat field, swearing he would rather the devil himself mow it. Some argue this was the very first documentation of what has become one of the most iconic symbols of alien activity. According to websites that track this phenomenon, more than 12,000 of these geometric patterns have been reported and in more than 60 countries.Today we are stepping into these fields — where the stalks bend, the patterns form, and the explanations vanish into thin air. Across quiet countrysides and moonlit plains, strange geometric shapes have appeared seemingly overnight — carved into the earth with precision no human hand could easily match. Some say it’s a message… a cosmic signature left by visitors from the great beyond. Others whisper about secret military technology, government conspiracy, or forces of nature we’ve never dared to understand. But one thing is certain — when the dew settles and the dawn light hits the fields, something is watching back.So are these puzzling spirals a hoax? A government conspiracy? Or proof of alien life? Today’s perplexing episode is all about crop circles!Check out Let's Get Haunted------WAYS TO SUPPORT & CONNECT:Join the Patreon for perks and ad free episodes!Hit that follow button, drop a 5 star review, and spread the word!!!Buy Kaydra a coffee and get a shoutout!Merch! S4 Ep 12S4 Ep12: Episode 171: PART 2- Dorothea Puente
EIn November 1988, a social worker showed up on Dorothea Puente’s doorstep, in Sacramento, CA just one mile from the Capitol and the Hall of Justice. The social worker, Judy Moise, was looking for one of Puente’s tenants, 51 year old Bert Montoya. He had stopped showing up to his social work meetings and this was his last known address. Dorothea left Judy Moise on high alert. Something about this situation and her demeanor did not feel right. Judy would end up contacting police, who arrived soon after with shovels. This would lead to days of digging in the back garden and a nearly 30 year secret finally coming to light. Beneath the flowers and apricot trees in this Sacramento garden, and behind the lace curtains in Dorothea’s windows, something sinister was happening. This is part 2 of the story of the Death House Land Lady, and female serial killer Dorothea Puente.------WAYS TO SUPPORT & CONNECT:Join the Patreon for perks and ad free episodes!Hit that follow button, drop a 5 star review, and spread the word!!!Buy Kaydra a coffee and get a shoutout!Merch! S4 Ep 11S4 Ep11: Episode 170: PART 1- Dorothea Puente
EImagine a quiet, tree-lined street in downtown Sacramento in the 1980s. This is F Street and at 1426 sits a small 2 story powder blue Victorian boarding house. The homeowner is a pillar in her community. Well respected and kind. She tends her garden, hands out cookies, and promises vulnerable people a safe place to stay. To local charities and social workers, she’s a hero who takes in those no one else will. But beneath the flowers and apricot trees in her garden, and behind the lace curtains in those windows, something sinister is happening. This truth would come to light on Nov 11, 1988 when police would arrive at the home, searching for missing 51 year old Bert Montoya. This boarding house was Montoya’s last known address. Little did police know this disappearance would lead them to an elderly female serial killer. Rumors of suspicious activity in the homeowner’s back garden led police to dig. They would ultimately find the human remains of 7 victims. In today’s episode, we’re exploring how a grandmotherly caretaker became one of America’s most infamous serial killers, known as the “Death House Landlady.” We’ll walk through her troubled past, the twisted schemes she used to target society’s most vulnerable, and the investigation that finally exposed the horrors hidden at 1426 F Street. If you lived in Sacramento, CA in the 80s, you’ll recognize this name. She is one of the most infamous female serial killers in the U.S. This is the story of Dorothea Puente. ------WAYS TO SUPPORT & CONNECT:Join the Patreon for perks and ad free episodes!Hit that follow button, drop a 5 star review, and spread the word!!!Buy Kaydra a coffee and get a shoutout!Merch!
