Many are trying to deal with God while operating in a different "ball field" so to speak. Such was the case with the woman of Samaria in John 4 as she tried to deal with Jesus Christ with a natural mindset and as a result failed to understand the spiritual implication of what He was saying. That was problem was eventually surmounted, but not until a particular issue was dealt with.
