This podcast will provide listeners with an overview of physical punishment in children including a comparison to physical abuse, current laws, other countries policies on physical punishment, and recommendations for parents on discipline. This podcast was developed by Michael Schlegelmilch, a medical student at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada in collaboration with the Child and Youth Protection (CYP) team at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa, Canada including Drs. Torrey Parker, Louise Murray, Alissa Dupuis and Michelle Ward, staff pediatricians in addition to Abby Browne, registered nurse.
