Inspired by parolee Stephen Poston, Sister Virginia founded Stephen's Place in 1993, offering shelter and guidance to five men at a time. Remarkably, nearly 75% of the over 400 men helped have successfully reintegrated into the community.

 

Despite initial resistance, Sister Virginia’s unwavering dedication transformed skeptics into supporters. Her story is a testament to the transformative power of empathy and second chances, highlighting her ability to shift community perceptions through faith and perseverance. Even as she stepped back, her enduring spirit and legacy continue to shine through Stephen’s Place, offering hope and opportunities for fresh starts.
