Show Notes
My next guests, Elia Torres and Celina Ramos are sisters whose family imigrated to the US in 1981 two short years after the start of the brutal Salvadoran Civil war that ravaged the country from 1979-1992. Listen in as they tell tales of how the family lived and survived literally in the crossfire of the warring El Salvador and the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN), a coalition or "umbrella organization" of left-wing groups. The hope is you will come away with a greater appreciation for living in relative peace and freedom here in the United States.
