AHOOGA!—Misery Guts/Act 3 is set in the town of Canton, where a newsboy announces Ford's one-millionth car rolling off the assembly line. The town square is beginning to bustle with activity as a new 1915 Paige Fleetwood arrives at the snobbish First National Bank. While opening the bank for the day, Mr. Olsen, the bank president, and Edward, a friendly but clumsy man, discuss Edward's wife’s award-winning meatloaf. Meanwhile, the mayor, known for his corrupt practices and love for Mr. Olsen's wife, Roxy, visits the bank. After a long meeting, the mayor leaves, expressing his disdain for the American President, and departs, singing praise for Roxy.
