On page 38, Allah عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ provides guidance on marital matters, emphasising justice and honour in relationships. The verses discuss the waiting period for widows, detailing a period of four months and ten days, after which they are free to marry again in a just and honourable manner.
The text also permits subtle hints of betrothal but urges transparency in contractual promises, aligning them with Islamic law. Consummation is advised only after the prescribed waiting period, highlighting the importance of patience and adherence to divine regulations.
The verses further address the issue of divorcing women before physical intimacy, stressing the duty to provide a reasonable gift, proportionate to one's means, as part of the divorce process. Notably, if divorce occurs before any physical contact, half of the agreed-upon bridal money should be paid, unless both parties agree otherwise. The overarching theme is one of fairness, mindfulness, and the recognition that Allah عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ observes all actions.
