In this lesson covering Sūrah Yūsuf, verses 11–21, Shaykh Dr Aḥsan Ḥanīf explores how the plot of Yūsuf’s brothers unfolded as they convinced their father to send him with them. Despite Yaʿqūb’s concerns, they placed him in a well, returning with a fabricated story. The verses go on to recount how a passing caravan found Yūsuf and sold him in Egypt for a small price. He was eventually taken in by an Egyptian household, setting the stage for the next part of his divine journey. The lesson reflects on themes of jealousy, divine planning, trust in Allāh, and how apparent loss can lead to unexpected beginnings.
