In this lesson of Sūrah At-Tawbah, verses 100-106, Shaykh Dr. Aḥsan Ḥanīf explores the distinction between the righteous and the hypocrites. The verses praise the Muhājirūn and Anṣār, as well as those who follow them in righteousness, highlighting Allāh’s pleasure with them and their eternal reward in Jannah. In contrast, the hypocrites—both from the Bedouins and the people of Madīnah—are condemned for their persistent deception, facing punishment in both this life and the Hereafter. The lesson also covers the repentance of some who mixed good deeds with sin, with hope for Allāh’s mercy, and the role of charity in purification.
