This week, Our Body Politic features the podcast 'As She Rises'. Hosted by Grace Lynch, 'As She Rises' combines locally-written poetry with expert interviews to ground listeners and contextualize the monumental impacts of climate change in locations across the globe. In Louisiana, poet Jerika Marchan and activist Colette Pichon Battle describe living through Hurricane Katrina and fighting for climate justice. U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo and activist Casey Camp-Horinek explore Indigenous Sovereignty and man-made earthquakes in Oklahoma.
