Show Notes
There are only 60 days until Oscar nominations are announced so Sophia and Nick are back to talk about some other recently released and critically-acclaimed films that they love that will be vying for those top awards. First is Luca Guadagnino's latest film, his sensitive and beautiful yet violent coming-of-age fable, ‘Bones and All.' Then, a magical and personal ode to movies, family, and growing up Jewish in Stephen Spielberg's ‘The Fabelmans’ (20:30). Next, in 'She Said', Maria Schrader crafts an important, sharp, and factual procedural behind the groundbreaking report exposing Weinstein's history of sexual abuse (55:22). Lastly, with the Film Independent Spirit Award nominations released earlier this week, listen for all of their reactions and how they feel about 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' and 'Tár' leading the pack (1:18:01).
