Celebrating 40 years of sea turtle preservation, the Brevard County Sea Turtle Preservation Society continues its vital work. With over 50,000 nests documented last year, volunteers handle rescues, transport injured turtles, and survey beaches. The first Leatherback nest of the season was found at Long Point Park, with Loggerhead and Green turtles expected to nest soon. Beachgoers are reminded to respect nests and call the 24-hour hotline if they encounter a turtle in distress.
