Show Notes

Two men scammed an elderly man out of $6,000 in Volusia County, Florida. The victim, an 85-year-old from Deltona, was tricked into withdrawing the cash after receiving a fake call from his bank. The money was then picked up by an Uber driver and dropped off at an address in Daytona Beach. Financial crimes detectives set up a sting, leading to the arrest of a 22-year-old man from Miramar. The Uber driver, a 20-year-old local from Daytona Beach, was also apprehended. Both suspects face fraud charges, with the younger one additionally charged with obstruction. The Uber account is linked to scams across the country, originating from a group in South Florida.
