Show Notes
The Audubon Center for Birds of Prey in Maitland, Florida, rescues and rehabilitates hundreds of injured raptors annually, including bald eagles, owls, and hawks. The center, established in 1979, has released over eight hundred bald eagles back into the wild. Visitors can witness these magnificent birds up close and learn about preventing human-caused injuries. A new owl aviary is set to open, providing more opportunities for public engagement. The center operates on approximately one million dollars per year, primarily funded by donations. Visit Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for a chance to see these birds of prey reclaim their skies.
