Lucas Ye, a second-grader from Mountain View, California, has designed Rise, a plush moon toy with an Earth-inspired cap, which won NASAs Artemis Two mission zero gravity indicator contest. Rise, inspired by the Earthrise photo, will accompany the crew on their ten-day moon orbit mission, set to launch on April 1, 2026. The design, which beat out thousands of entries, carries public names to space and continues the tradition of fun mascots in space missions.
