Two Volusia County deputies, Jose Rivera and Jacob Gomez-Lopez, were shot at while investigating a car damage report in Deltona, Florida. The suspect, Luis Diaz Polanco, fired multiple rounds at them from his front door after they arrived at his home. Rivera was hit twice, but is now in stable condition. Polanco confessed to intentionally shooting at the deputies, believing their vests would stop the bullets. He is currently in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail.
