The Cubs spent the last weekend in California, and after dropping the first three games of the trip in San Francisco, they return home having gone 3-4 against two of the best teams in the NL. With each passing week, the Cubs keep proving that they are legitimate playoff contenders, and they head into this weekend's series with the Cardinals atop the NL Central.
Brett, Sahadev and Patrick break down the West Coast swing on this episode of Onto Waveland. The guys highlight the impressive turnaround, culminating in a win over the Padres and old friend Yu Darvish on Wednesday. They also discuss how the team has forced the front office's hand with respect to the trade deadline by playing better than could have realistically been expected to this point of the season.
