On a warm October night in 1971, two teenage girls set off for a visit that would change everything. Kathy Potter, 13, and Lee Kirk, 15, left their Toronto foster home heading for Richmond Hill. They never arrived.
Two days later, their bodies were discovered side-by-side in a Pickering gravel pit. They had been carefully placed, yet brutally strangled. The investigation that followed revealed a heartbreaking breakdown in communication by the Children’s Aid Society and a trail of forensic clues—orange paint chips, welding beads, and mysterious grey hairs—that led to more questions than answers.
Was it a biker initiation, a chance encounter with a predatory trucker, or a secret meeting at a wine party gone wrong?
