Slampion Howard celebrates Poetry Day

Little green wins and global adventures
Christy catches up with TV presenter and adventurer Simon Reeve to celebrate the little green wins, as he looks back at some of the biggest environmental achievements in Britain over the last decade. How would you like to be in with a chance of driving an Aston Martin Vantage around the Island for a weekend - while also supporting the wonderful work carried out by Hospice At Home nurses? The Diana Princess of Wales Hospice Care at Home Trust helps fund specialist nursing staff to provide respite care and end-of-life palliative care for Isle of Man residents with cancer or other life-limiting illnesses who choose to remain at home in their last days. Charity Trustees Richard Slee and Deb Shields tell us how they hope to raise £2m and also give us the lowdown on their exciting new Fundraiser involving the prestigious sports car and the ongoing Raad Ny Foillan Challenges, which are open to all. Skating is for life, not just for birthdays
When Christy's nephews bought her a skateboard for her birthday, she couldn't let them down...so she booked in for a lesson with Galskate at The Shred House and soon found herself rolling around a halfpipe with a big goofy grin on her face! A new obsession is born... She chatted with coach Ali throughout the process, who told her about the many and surprising benefits of skating. A rum deal in the Big Smoke for the Outlier lads
Outlier Distilling Company say they are 'looking to do things differently from the mass market' and it seems the passion and determination of the tiny team has served them well in the short time they’ve been operating. For the two main men behind the label, Ian Warborn-Jones and Rick Dacey, proof came in the past few weeks when bottles of their rum started appearing on the shelves of Harrods no less... In a little under three years, they've gone from renovating an old milk shed to having Hoolie Manx rum on the shelves of arguably the most famous shop in the world. But how did they get here? This October sees her adding to her total of walking hundreds of miles in the Frontline Walk following in the footsteps of those who fought on the Somme and Passchendaele battlefields during the First World War. Team Zebra and their cardboard fuel bricks
Christy meets the young entrepreneurs from Ramsey Grammar School who've linked up with Isle of Man Live at Home Schemes Northern Men in Sheds for their Junior Achievement Isle of Man project. 'Team Zebra' are making fuel bricks out of wasted cardboard to help provide an energy source for the Island's vulnerable, including those who use Isle of Man Foodbank We catch up with Annie Pearsall from Live At Home IOM; Harry, Matt and Sam from Team Zebra and JA mentor John Christian; - and Nigel from Northern in Sheds, sharing his knowledge and experience with the team.

Introducing "Creeaght"
Getting an insight into – and sneak preview of - Isla Callister's traditional music composition which celebrates the role women have played in Manx history. 'Creeaght', which means 'Courage' in Manx, was launched as part of Yn Chrunniaght last year. Today, to celebrate International Women's Day 2023, Culture Vannin has released a video of the event - which you can watch in full here. The suite of music was performed by an all women-identifying ensemble and featured artwork by award-winning Manx illustrator Jo Davies, who has bought the stories of these women to life through her illustrations.
