A princess sits at the edge of my bed
Telling fantastical stories,
My sleepy head tripping over the details
But in line with the nuance.
She prattles like a caffeinated sage,
Wisdom seeping out of jumbled phrases,
Bits of stories, weaving together
Her dreams, desires, realities.
It’s all the same,
She speaks her life.
