The creation of the I'm The Boss of Me children's book happened when her son was seven years old. He came home – again – with a note from his teacher saying he had another "outburst" in class. (This time, it was calling the teacher a liar in front of the whole class.) She asked him why this kept happening, and he said, "It's not MY fault, Mommy. My MOUTH did it!"
