She speaks about the Haitians who walked from Brazil to San Diego, California seeking political asylum and then being placed in detention centers for long periods of time, awaiting their turn before a judge. In the mean time, they are treated the same as criminals locked up, and without the rights afforded to American citizens, for instance, the right to legal representation. These detention centers are run for profit. They are paid from our government to house each person per day.
