Show Notes
Nebraskas wildfire season is nearing an end as four major fires, including the largest in state history, the Morrill Fire, are almost fully contained. The Morrill Fire, caused by an electrical problem exacerbated by high winds, has scorched 642,000 acres and is now at 98% containment. The Cottonwood Fire, burning 129,000 acres, is also at 98% containment, with evacuation orders lifted. The Road 203 Fire, covering 35,000 acres, is at 90% containment, despite three empty firefighter vehicles being destroyed. The smallest, the Anderson Bridge Fire, is fully contained after burning 17,000 acres. With containment numbers rising, firefighters can now focus on cleanup and supporting affected communities.
