Douglas County authorities in Omaha, Nebraska, arrest Freddy Garcia Junior for animal abuse. The case emerged from disturbing videos showing Garcia, 22, abusing dogs near 21st and Vinton streets. The Nebraska Humane Society received a complaint in February 2026, with footage of Garcia kicking, punching, and choking at least three dogs. One of the dogs, a 10-year-old gray Chihuahua named Apollo, was found dead in late January 2026. Investigators from the sheriffs office and the humane societys animal control worked together to track down Garcia. On March 5th, deputies served a search warrant at Garcias home, seizing three dogs, three guinea pigs, one bearded dragon, and an assortment of fish. Garcia was arrested on March 13th. Officials expressed pride in their partnership to hold abusers accountable and protect animals.
