Fred Hoiberg, Nebraskas mens basketball coach, has been named the Associated Press Coach of the Year for 2025. This marks the first time a Nebraska mens coach has received this honor. Hoiberg led the Huskers to their first 28-win season and a historic run to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament. He received 17 out of 61 votes, edging out Dukes John Scheyer and Arizonas Tommy Lloyd. Hoiberg will receive the award in Indianapolis during the Final Four, following a contract extension that keeps him with Nebraska through the 2031-2032 season.
