Show Notes
Two Blackhawk helicopters, battling the Cottonwood fire near Ogallala, Nebraska, transformed a routine field trip for 61 fourth-graders into an unforgettable air show. The choppers, dropping water since mid-March, had already unleashed 265,000 gallons through nearly 400 drops. The kids got a hands-on experience, climbing into pilot seats and trying on gear. The pilots, volunteers trained for various emergencies, will stay until the fires are under control.
