How do you choose a church? Is it for the amazing stage a church may have? Light show? Maybe a particular church's drums are tuned just right you hear that perfect "crack" of the snare? For me, I base mine off of the potluck quality. I'm totally joking. However, one time someone made a killer summer salad and the main ingredient were beats...BEATS!!! I am still shocked. Forgive me, but the title is in reference to a sound bite we have had programmed in our mixer since the beginning and we finally got a chance to use it...twice! Temptation is a constant struggle. Easier for some, more difficult for others. Either way the question remains, "As sinners, how do we go about fighting temptation?" I've heard 2010's "The King's Speech" starring Colin Firth is a fantastic movie. Still haven't watched it myself, but the title did bring forth an interesting question, "How should we speak as Christians according to the Bible?" I often wonder, "what is the overarching theme of the Bible?" Well, Ben and I decided to break it down into four main parts, The Covenants. The covenants act as pegs upon which we can hang the Bible's story. Four covenants advance the message of the unified theme of redemption by the rescuer. I still remember watching 1986's "Back to School" starring Rodney Dangerfield as a kid. That movie was one of the primary reasons I wanted to go to college, however there were way more exams in real life than portrayed in the movie. Come listen as Ben and I discuss one of the most fascinating topics (IMO) Angels and Demons. The 2009 movie of the same name in which Ewan McGregor parachutes as a priest is rated 6.7/10 on IMDB. Rate this episode higher people!!!

On our last episode we discussed (well Ben discussed, I just listened) on how to start a relationship with God. On today's episode we talk about maintaining that relationship with our Almighty Father who art in heaven. The suggestions we cover are not the end all be all, but never the less they are great tips. What is An Ideal Husband? No, I'm not asking about the 1999 movie staring Julianne Moore and Cate Blanchett. That year I was too busy watching Keanu become a Kung Fu master in The Matrix! But back to the question at hand. What does make an ideal husband according to the Bible? Tune into our latest episode with Ben to find out...because I have no clue.

In 2022 I took a break from Church yet continued my Bible studies with Ben. Very shortly there after he laid the smack down on me with some knowledge (as well as the People's Elbow) and said, "You need to get back to church," and he could not have been more correct. Come listen to Ben and myself have a great time discussing why attending church is so important. And it's not because Stone Cold said so.

Join Ben and I for Part Two of what it means to be a good parent according to the Bible. People say the original is always superior to the sequel. We beg to differ. Just think of Jaws 2...we're way better than that.

Ok ok...so we're not trapping any parents on this show. Ben is in a happy, caring, God loving marriage. As for me, I am 100% joyfully content being a single father [insert eye roll emoji]. However, we do often ask the same question, "what does it mean to be a good parent?"
