Elena Melchert talks with geochemist Justin Mackey and Tom Tarka both at the at the U.S. Department of Energy, National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) about Critical Minerals.  Critical Minerals are those minerals used in many applications, from cell phones and appliances to electric vehicles and solar panels. Justin is currently studying the resource potential of lithium in the produced water associated with the Marcellus Shale and there is a link to a paper below on the subject.
