The Celtic B team are back in action this Saturday as they take on East Kilbride in their second Lowland League fixture of the 2021/22 season. It’s a home game for the Hoops, which will be played at the Penny Cars Stadium, Airdrie (KO: 1pm), and supporters can buy tickets for that game to cheer on the team. Celtic kicked off the campaign with a 2-1 defeat away to Bonnyrigg Rose, and for Darren O’Dea, the aim this weekend is for an improved performance and a positive result. Speaking to the Celtic View podcast, the Celtic coach said: “The preparations have been very good. The experience the players had last week will stand them in good stead. It’s a new environment playing competitive football in a league against physically dominant teams. “They coped with it pretty well last week but we’ll be looking for a big improvement in this game now that they’ve sampled a taste of it. 2021-06-04 The Celtic View Podcast 2021 E48 with Lisa Robertson

It’s the final day of the Scottish Women’s Premier League season, and a day when Celtic could make history. Victory for Fran Alonso’s side over Motherwell will secure a second-place finish and deliver Champions League football to the club for the first time. It would be a phenomenal achievement for the Hoops in what is only their first season as a professional club, and that is the focus for the players this afternoon (Sunday). However, an incredible run of form which has seen them unbeaten in their last 12 games – 11 wins and one draw – means that the race for the league title has gone down to the final day. Celtic need to win by at least three goals against Motherwell and hope that Rangers can beat Glasgow City in their match. And while the odds may be in favour of the defending champions, it had made for a thrilling and unpredictable end to the campaign. Learn more about your ad choices. The Hoops are currently two points ahead of third place Rangers and three behind leaders Glasgow City in the Scottish Women’s Premier League, and a top-two finish will be enough to see the team realise their dream of playing in Europe’s most prestigious club competition. Speaking to the Celtic View podcast ahead of Sunday’s game, Fran Alonso said his players were well prepared for their final challenge of what has been an incredible campaign. Chris Jullien can’t wait to be back playing in the Hoops as he speaks exclusively to the Celtic View podcast. Speaking exclusively to the Celtic View podcast, Chris Jullien said: “At the moment when I got injured, I remember Odsonne coming up to me and saying, ‘Chris, don’t worry. It’s going to be okay, it’s going to be okay.’ ‘I was devastated. Every time in my career when I’ve had a little injury, I always thought I would come back really fast.’ “The first thing I said to him was that I was going to miss the Rangers game. It was a really important game that could have put our season on the other side, so to miss that was really difficult in my mind. And then to miss all the rest of the games was so painful. 2020-04-27 The Celtic View Podcast 2020 E18 Chris McQueer

AUTHOR and lifelong Celtic fan Chris McQueer found fame through his Glasgow-inspired short story collections, Hings and HWFG. His latest project, a documentary named Noteworthy, available now on BBC iPlayer, sees Chris touring Scotland in a bid to learn more about the faces that feature on our currency. At the end of his journey, Chris crafts his own banknote, and, while we won’t spoil who made the final cut, it did get us thinking – which Celtic legends would the man himself vouch for if he were to create a Hoops-inspired banknote? “On the front of a note, you need to just have one person’s face,” said Chris this week's episode of the official Celtic View podcast. “On the front, I’ll have Jock Stein. We’ll have a nice portrait of him on the front. “On the back, I’ll go for… it’s got to be Billy McNeill. Get a picture of him in there, holding the European Cup up over his head. And then, on either side of him, I think I’ll pick two players from my time watching as a fan, so two of our more recent players. On one side of Billy, it’ll need to be Henrik Larsson, and then I’ll go for Scott Brown on the other side.” In Noteworthy, Chris’ end product takes the form a seven-pound note. With this is mind, his hypothetical Celtic-inspired currency is worth an impressive £67. Chris added: “So, on the front, Jock Stein. On the back, Billy with the Big Cup, Henrik on the left mid-celebration, and then Scott Brown on the other side – probably a picture of him barking his orders. I’ll make it a 67-pound note as well. I think that would be quite good!” Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Now, it’s 22 years and time has passed so quickly. “Still, the memories are so clear and so good.
