In the first part, "Nerve", Aeryn’s still suffering from the wound she received in the last episode. And the only cure just happens to be on the secret Peacekeeper base nearby. Crichton and Chiana go there to get it and wind up meeting an old friend, a potential new friend and a new enemy. The Peacekeeper Scorpius captures Crichton and subjects him to the Aurora Chair, a device that rather painfully extracts your memories. We leave Crichton trapped in the comfy chair as we end on our first cliffhanger… But we don’t have to wait months for a resolution, no, it’s right on to the next episode, "The Hidden Memory". Scorpius learns of Crichton’s feud with Captain Crais and summons him to the secret base. While the crew mount a rescue mission, Moya goes into labor! But there’s something not right with the baby. Can the crew rescue Crichton before he breaks in the chair? What’s up with Moya’s baby? What will Aeryn do when she finally meets Crais again? Listen and find out! We're back after a little extended absence due to hurricanes, power outages and vacations! This time we recap and discuss Farscape season 3, episode 17 - The Choice. Aeryn is on a planet full of seers... yes, really... a whole planet. She's trying to contact the spirit of Crichton and also her dead father. Who's not quite as dead as she was led to believe. In our first episode, "Through the Looking Glass", Crichton does a lot of running around, through four different Moyas in multiple dimensions due to Moya getting stuck in Starburst. And apparently they are not alone as something really wants them to leave. On top of that, each dimension has a different negative effect on the crew. Can they overcome these strange environments and the lurking presence and get back to normal space? And what’s with all the food at dinner? Both times! Finally, we review "A Bug’s Life". No, not the 1998 Pixar movie — the 1999 Farscape episode with the same name. Moya welcomes a Peacekeeper Special Ops unit on board whose ship is damaged. They’re taking their top secret cargo to an also top secret Peacekeeper base hidden in the Uncharted Territories. So of course, Rygel and Chiana open up the cargo and release the deadly body-possessing, body-hopping virus inside. It’s a race against time to find out who’s got the virus and neutralize it before it can escape the ship and infect whole worlds! First up, "Durka Returns", where — you guessed it — the Peacekeeper Durka who imprisoned and tortured Rygel for 130 years returns seemingly from the dead. But now he’s a kinder, gentler Durka courtesy of the Nebari and their "mental cleansing". Or is he? Let’s see how Rygel reacts to this. The Nebari also have a prisoner, Chiana, who doesn’t wish to be cleansed and wants asylum on Moya. Will the crew let her stay? Finally we review "A Human Reaction". Crichton finds a wormhole back to Earth! But after being gone for seven months, and having translator microbes in his head, and strange technology on his spaceship, he’s not exactly welcomed back with open arms. Things get even worse when the rest of the crew show up unannounced. Can they get away before they’re poked, prodded and dissected by the military? Why does Crichton think everyone he sees in Australia is someone he knows from his past? Is there some unseen force behind all this? And we wrap up with "That Old Black Magic". Thanks to some evil being’s magicks, Crichton gets the chance to finally explain in person that it was an accident that Captain Crais’ brother died way back in episode 1. Things don’t go so well. Can the rest of Moya’s crew save John before it’s too late? And what will it cost some of them? Farscape throws us a curveball this time around with season 3, episode 16 - Revenging Angel. We get to learn all about D'Argo's new ship they picked up way back at the start of season 3. But not before D'Argo gets a little upset and knocks Crichton into a coma... oops. And then things get weird, with Crichton in an animated dreamscape doing his own version of Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner cartoons being chased by D'Argo. And all the while Harvey is there, telling Crichton he needs to take his revenge on D'Argo for what he did to him. Let the hijinks ensue! Oh and in the real world, D'Argo's new ship has decided to self destruct in less than an arn unless they can stop it. We conclude the next epic Farscape multipart story with season 3 episode 15, Infinite Possibilities, Part 2: Icarus Abides. This one has it all -- action, explosions, dune buggy chases, and plot twists galore! We finally have our first look at what a wormhole weapon is capable of and it more than lives up to the hype. Unfortunately things do not go so well for Jack and Crichton while dealing with it. We discuss all that and the aftermath for Aeryn when they finally get back to Moya and have to deal with the other Crichton. Then after that exciting episode of Farscape, we cover another exciting episode of Secret Invasion, episode 5 - Harvest, and then we cover the (not so) exiciting finale, episode 6 - Home. Things shape up for an epic finale and then they kind of disappoint us and fail to bring it all to a satisfactory conclusion. But maybe that was their plan all along. We start the second two parter of Farscape season 3 -- episode 14, Infinite Possibilities, Part 1: Daedalus Demands. And like all Farscape multi-part episodes, this one does not dissapoint. The Talyn crew run into some old friends, Jack, the Ancient who gave Crichton some subconscious wormhole knowledge back in season 1, and Furlow, the mechanic who Crichton gave some wormhole readings to even earlier in season 1. And that's not a coincidence. Furlow has managed to find a way to traverse wormholes safely and that knowledge could soon belong to the Scarrans. Jack is here to stop that any way he can. After that we discuss episode 4 of Secret Invasion -- Beloved. Nick Fury is getting his groove back as a spy master and getting closer to finding out what Gravik is up to with his plans to start World War 3. But can he and Talos stop his latest plan in time? As we are between the start of other newer TV shows, this time around Eric and Jason just continue their Farscape rewatch with season 3 episode 12, Meltdown. Talyn is being mysteriously drawn into a nearby sun. And the damage caused by trying to escape is emitting some gas that affects the rest of the crew in various ways. On top of that, Stark has found a new friend who's trapped between this life and the afterlife. Can they repair Talyn, save their new friend and get away from the sun before they're destroyed? Eric and Jason continue their Farscape rewatch, this time with season 3 episode 11, Incubator. In this Scorpius-centered episode we learn all about our favorite villain's backstory, what makes him tick, and why he really wants the wormhole equations in Crichton's head. Or can we really believe everything he says? In the B-plot, a scientist working on those same wormhole equations defects and offers Crichton the knowledge to safely traverse wormholes without turning into a puddle of goo. Or does she? We wrap up the episode with our discussion of season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch on Disney+. We discuss the quick replacement of clones with Imperial citizens, the new tidbits about Omega, and our theories about where season 3 and beyond might go given the ending events of season 2. Eric and Jason continue their Farscape rewatch, this time with season 3 episode 10, Relativity. Aeryn and her mother, Xhalax Sun, finally have their long awaited family reunion... in a swamp. It goes about as well as you'd expect, swamp notwithstanding. And in other shocking news, Rygel wants to leave everyone behind once Talyn is healed if they are not back onboard. Inconceivable! And then we discuss the last half of season 3 of The Mandalorian on Disney+. Where we finally answer that age old question we never knew we needed to know, "Why do droids hang out in bars?". Then once we solve that riddle, we gush over how amazing the rest of the season was and how it wraps up nicely if this is the end of the series. Oh, and we squeal over them name dropping Grand Admiral Thrawn about a dozen times. This time around Eric and Jason review something old and something new. First up season 3 episode 9 of Farscape, Losing Time. Moya goes through a "harmless" energy cloud and picks up some new passengers. Neither of which want to leave the bodies they're possessing. Can the remaining crew remove these energy beings before the possessions are permanent? And finally, we've been threatening to do it since we started Occasional Randomness and we finally did. We review something more current. The first half of The Mandalorian season 3 on Disney+. The first half of season 3 has you guessing for a good portion of it what the season is about with some interesting detours and possible fakeouts. But really, it seems like it should be called "The Mandalorians" as there are more Mandalorians than you can shake a scared droid at. This time around we cover Farscape Season 3, Episode 8 - Green Eyed Monster. What do you do when you get swallowed whole by a giant Budong? Try to get out, of course. What do you get when you have two identical John Crichtons? That's right, double the fun! But while the crew are coming to terms with having more than one Crichton on board, they encounter a badly injured Crais and Talyn. They run into some trouble, of course, when they try to obtain some supplies to help heal Talyn. And Crais drops a bombshell on Aeryn -- the Peacekeeper forces that were after him and Talyn are commanded by none other than Aeryn's mother! Will they get away in time before she arrives? We reviewed a couple of dark episodes on the day before Halloween (as we recorded this), which was fitting we guess. First up -- ...Different Destinations. Where the crew accidentally go back in time and try to set right what they messed up by trying to make sure they didn't mess history up. But this isn't your typical time travel episode where things all turn out the same or better in the end. Afterall, this is Farscape we're talking about. Finally the really dark episode, Eat Me. Farscape's survival horror episode. Where the crew fend off cannibalistic pseudo-zombies and a mad scientist on a diseased and dying Leviathan. And where the ending leaves the crew seeing double... double Crichtons. We have our first two parter of season 3 already. And it's not a happy, fun time for our wayward crew. First up -- Self-Inflicted Wounds (Part 1): Could'a, Would'a, Should'a. While on their way to a planet that can help Zhaan heal, Moya runs across a wormhole. Before anyone can do anything, a ship comes out of it and materializes part way inside Moya. The crews of both ships work on ways to separate themselves, but it seems the aliens on the other ship have ulterior motives. And we meet our newest crewmember - Jool. Finally in Self-Inflicted Wounds (Part 2): Wait for the Wheel, we learn that the aliens are sabotaging Moya so their ship can be the only one to escape the wormhole. Our crew must put their differences of opinions and desires aside to save them all before the aliens' plans are realized. And one of our crew makes the ultimate sacrifice. Eric and Jason are back after an extended time away, some of which was out of their control. They jump into the beginning of season three of Farscape -- which now has new opening theme music, "new" cast members and a new narration. First up, the exciting conclusion to the end of season two, Season of Death. That's the name of the episode, not the name of the last season. Does Aeryn come back to life? Does Crichton get his head back together, both literally and psychologically? Does Rygel really like what Chiana's cooking? Then we wrap up with Suns and Lovers. Where we hopefully put the whole D'Argo / Chiana / Jothee love triangle behind us, never to be spoken of again. And not just because the crew is trapped on a disabled space station about to be destroyed by a mysterious wave of energy soon approaching. Can they find the source of the signal attracting the wave in time? Can they saved the trapped children and themselves? And can Aeryn and Crichton finally find some "alone time"?
