That was a weird game, wasn't it? Patrick started this podcast episode early in the 4th quarter when the W's were down by 30 then paused midsession when texts and DMs started coming in telling him the Warriors got the lead down to 8. Unfortunately, the W's were not able to pull it out and lost 119-109 to the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. The W's could not complete the sweep as the Mavs shot the lights out and were able to hold off a surprising and impressive comeback by the W's bench. But the W's get a chance to lick their wounds and go for their 2nd Gentleman's Sweep of the playoffs on Thursday night at Chase Center. Fingers crossed Otto Porter Jr. can give it a go and the W's can close this one out and rest up for the Finals. Exhale, everyone. The "Good Warriors" showed up! Patrick breaks down the Golden State Warriors' 112-87 Game 1 win over the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. Specifically, he discusses Andrew Wiggins' inspired defensive effort on Luka Doncic, Wiggins' overall Andre Iguodala-esque two-way play, the W's teamwide focus and force from the jump, their balance and depth coming through at the right time, and the W's ability to attack the basket and willingness to go for 2-point shots instead of 3's. The Mavs likely will not shoot as poorly as they did in this game again, but the W's have yet to lose a game where they actually play with energy and intention. There's still a long way to go, but if they bring this same effort consistently, Game 1 is absolutely an auspicious sign.
