San Jose Sharks Forward Ty Dellandrea Secures Two-Year Contract Extension
The San Jose Sharks have signed forward Ty Dellandrea to a two-year contract extension worth $3.25 million. This deal secures the 25-year-old through the 2027-28 season, just as he was heading into his final contract year. Despite being sidelined by a lower-body injury since January 6th, Dellandrea has been a standout player for the Sharks this season. He led the team in faceoff wins at 52.3%, ranked second in hits with 117 and blocked shots with 36, and logged the most short-handed ice time. Dellandrea joined San Jose ahead of last season after four years with Dallas, where he has played in 261 career games with 17 goals and 44 assists. Meanwhile, the Sharks have called up goalie Laurent Brossoit from the AHL to replace Yaroslav Askarov, who is out with a minor lower-body injury. Brossoit has 118 career starts but last played in the NHL during the 2023-24 season after a January trade from Chicago.
