Oakland chef Crystal Wahpepah, born to the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma, shares her journey through Native foods in her debut cookbook, A Feather and a Fork. Featuring 125 intertribal recipes using Native ingredients and producers, the book emphasizes seasonal eating and honoring the land. With a foreword by Tommy Orange, the cookbook celebrates Wahpepahs award-winning restaurant, Wahpepah’s Kitchen, and her mission to bring Indigenous cuisine to the forefront.
