U.S. Military Plane Crashes in Iraq: Recovery Mission Underway

A U.S. military KC-135 Stratotanker crashed in western Iraq, near the Iraqi-Jordanian border, during a mission against Iran. The fate of the crew is unknown, but a second Stratotanker involved in the same incident landed safely. This is the fourth aircraft mishap in Operation Epic Fury, following a friendly-fire incident last Monday that resulted in three F-15E Strike Eagles being brought down. Recovery missions, known as Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel (TRAP), are underway to secure the crash site, rescue survivors, and protect sensitive gear. More details will be released as the situation develops.
