Larry Stahl, a former Kansas City Athletics outfielder, passed away at age 84. He debuted in 1964, hitting a home run in his first game. Stahls standout moment came in 1966 when he hit a 503-foot home run, tying the game against Boston. He played for the Mets, Padres, and Reds, hitting his best year in 1971 with the Padres. Stahls final big-league at-bat was a pinch-hit single in the 1973 National League Championship Series. With his passing, only about 68 former Kansas City Athletics players remain, preserving baseballs rich history.
