The Oakland Athletics are rapidly securing their top young talents, with first baseman Nick Kurtz, the 2025 AL Rookie of the Year and Silver Slugger, being the latest to receive a long-term contract extension offer. Kurtz, who was drafted fourth overall in 2024, had an impressive debut season, batting .290 with 36 home runs and 86 RBIs. The As have also recently signed outfielder Lawrence Butler, catcher Tyler Soderstrom, and infielder Jacob Wilson to long-term deals. Kurtzs offer details are yet to be disclosed, but its expected to be substantial.
