Western allies are continuing to work on a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. Multiple meetings are being held in efforts to arrange a trilateral leaders summit, while also working on security guarantees for Ukraine. NATO defense chiefs are set to hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday as Western countries push for an end to the war. Russia's foreign minister said on Wednesday that Russia has to be involved in the process. According to the Kremlin, excluding Moscow from security talks won't yield results.
The Texas Legislature is expected to pass a new congressional map on Wednesday that would shift five seats to Republicans. On Tuesday, Democratic state Rep. Nicole Collier spent a second night in the Texas Capitol building. She had refused to accept a mandatory police escort meant to ensure Democratic lawmakers wouldn’t attempt to leave the state again.
